Job Summary:The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with hereditary red blood cell disorders, including Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease. This will involve collecting and interpreting data, determining medical diagnoses, and treating complex responses to actual or potential problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health equity frameworks and experience working with diverse cultural and ethno-racial heritage populations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert clinical care to patients with hereditary red blood cell disorders
- Collect and interpret data to inform medical diagnoses and treatment plans
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
- Participate in policy and procedure development, research activities, and education programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a NP
- Lived experience as a member of an equity-seeking group is an asset
- Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
- Three to five years nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Nursing experience in acute and chronic pain preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively independently and under stressful conditions
