Lumber Yard Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lumber Yard Supervisor to join our team at Delta Cedar Saw Mill LP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our lumber yard, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Schedule Work: Plan and coordinate the work schedule for our lumber yard team, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintenance and Repair: Arrange for maintenance and repair work to be carried out on our equipment and machinery, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
- Quality and Production: Monitor quality and production levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize performance.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit progress and other reports, providing valuable insights to our management team.
- Materials and Supplies: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring that our lumber yard is well-stocked and equipped to meet production demands.
- Problem-Solving: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Mechanical Equipment: Supervise the operation of mechanical equipment and machinery, ensuring that they are used safely and efficiently.
- Team Supervision: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of our lumber yard team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Training and Development: Train staff and workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Office and Volunteer Staff: Supervise office and volunteer staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Physical Accessibility: Provides physical accessibility accommodations, such as ramps and elevators, to ensure that our facilities are accessible to all.
- Visual Accessibility: Provides visual accessibility accommodations, such as braille and screen readers, to ensure that our materials and communications are accessible to all.
- Auditory Accessibility: Provides auditory accessibility accommodations, such as transcription software and teletypewriters, to ensure that our communications are accessible to all.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support persons with disabilities.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for persons with disabilities.
- Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Inclusive Recruitment: Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support newcomers and/or refugees.
- Settlement Needs: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and childcare.
- Social and Labour Market Integration: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, such as facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
- Recruitment: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Credential Recognition: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
- Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
- No Canadian Work Experience Required: Does not require Canadian work experience.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support youth employment.
- On-the-Job Training: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for youth.
- Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support Veterans.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Veterans.

- Workshops and Counselling: Offers workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.
- Skills Translation: Supports Veterans in translating their military skills and experience into the language of the civilian job market.
- Flexible Onboarding: Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support Indigenous people.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Cultural Competency Training: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Elder Support: Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Government and Community Programs: Participates in government or community programs or initiatives that support mature workers.
- Hiring Policies: Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Awareness Training: Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for mature workers.
- Phased Retirement: Offers phased retirement options that allow mature workers to gradually reduce their workload.
- Phased Re-Entry: Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring.
