The Role:

We seek an experienced leader to join our practice. This is a unique opportunity to shape client programs, provide exceptional leadership, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic team.

As a Senior Public Affairs Strategist, you will:

  • Develop and execute complex public affairs strategies, leveraging your expertise in government relations, communications, and corporate reputation.
  • Provide senior counsel to organizations, generating new business opportunities and managing significant client mandates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that drive business results.
  • Mentor and develop the practice of public affairs at H&K, providing guidance and training to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulatory developments, applying your knowledge to drive business growth and reputation management.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of public policy and regulatory experience related to public affairs in Ontario.
  • In-depth knowledge and network within the public sector, including Ontario provincial and municipal governments, agencies, and organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships within organizations and the business community.
  • Strong experience managing multiple teams and projects, with a focus on client delivery and financial management.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to sell ideas to prospects, clients, and partners.
  • A strong sense of leadership and dedication to mentorship, with a focus on cultivating a high-performing team.
