Job Title: Digital, Web Content and Social Media Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Digital, Web Content and Social Media Officer to join our team at the University of Guelph. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive digital media strategy to enhance our online presence and engage with our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a strategic social media and digital media content plan to achieve our marketing communications goals.
  • Manage and update our website, ensuring all content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with our brand and strategic plan.
  • Design and implement effective social media campaigns to engage with our audience and drive recruitment and marketing efforts.
  • Provide expert advice on digital media and design best practices to faculty, staff, and leadership.
  • Collect and analyze data on our digital media performance to inform future strategies.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, or a related field, and a minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and using content management systems such as Drupal, SharePoint, Canva, WordPress, Hootsuite, and/or Facebook Business Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic digital media campaigns and plans.
  • Superior writing and editing skills, with strong proficiency in graphic design and visual communications.
  • Knowledge of design best practices and publishing processes, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders.
