Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Public Safety Communications Officer to join our team at Medavie Health Services. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for answering and handling 911 calls, providing emergency medical dispatch instructions, and delivering high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide critical assistance to individuals in need
  • Use the Medical Priority Dispatch System to deliver accurate and timely emergency medical dispatch instructions
  • Maintain accurate records of all emergency calls and responses
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and efficient response times
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
Requirements
  • Grade 12 (or equivalent) education
  • Additional education in communications or a related field is an asset
  • Work experience in a similar environment is an asset
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • CPR Level C certification
  • Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
  • Standard Employment Hearing Assessment
  • Aptitude test (Criticall)
