Public Safety Communications Officer Position

We are seeking a skilled Public Safety Communications Officer to join our team at Medavie Health Services. This role involves answering 911 calls, providing emergency medical dispatch instructions, and delivering high-quality customer service.
About the RoleThis is a dynamic opportunity for an individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. As a Public Safety Communications Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Answering and handling 911 calls according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Providing emergency medical dispatch instructions for emergency situations
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) diploma
- Excellent English language proficiency
- Strong computer skills
- CPR Level C certification within the last 12 months
- Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
- Standard Employment Hearing Assessment
You will work in a unionized environment, with rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. You must be available to work 10-12 hour shifts and maintain a clean and professional appearance.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
