Production Team Lead

Our Canadian client is a leading manufacturer of heavy metal part products in North America. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and profitability throughout plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management: In charge of all production, personnel, quality, and safety requirements on the shift.
- Leadership: Provide leadership to all leads and employees on the shift.
- Operations Planning: Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities of the plant.
- Training and Development: Train and evaluate employees in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Conflict Resolution: Investigate and deal with personnel issues. Administer progressive disciplinary action when necessary.
- Safety and Quality: Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all safety rules are followed.
- Continuous Improvement: Prepare reports on status of established KPIs and champion production-related continuous improvement projects.
- Project Management: Lead and participate in Kaizen events to ensure continuous improvement goals are being achieved.
- Communication: Resolve production errors and disputes. Prepare production and other reports where required.
- Teamwork: Attend and contribute to production meetings.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment with a preference given to those with industrial manufacturing experience.
- University degree or college diploma in Engineering/Operations Management or similar field.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, coaching, technical skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing inbound outbound logistics would be an asset.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement efforts, including but not limited to Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma is preferred.
