Aquatics Program Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatics Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Belleville. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising aquatic programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate and supervise aquatic programs, including lifeguard and instructor rotations, breaks, and lesson assignments.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks, such as maintaining statistics, completing reports, and updating paperwork.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and evaluate aquatics staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Special Events: Coordinate and supervise special events, such as swim meets and rental groups, in collaboration with the Aquatics Coordinator.
  • Training and Meetings: Attend and assist with the organization and running of all Aquatics staff training and meetings.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Certifications: Swim Instructor-Lifesaving Society, National Lifeguard Certification, Standard First Aid and C.R. 'C' Certification, Lifesaving Instructor-Lifesaving Society, Examiner-up to Bronze Cross, Aquatic Supervisor Certification
  • Experience: Two (2) years' experience instructing and lifeguarding, skill and efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Recreation Software: Experience with related recreation software (Xplor Recreation)
  • Municipal Recreation Experience: Municipal recreation experience
