Aquatics Program Manager

The City of Belleville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Community Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of aquatic programs, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Design, develop, and implement aquatic programs that meet the needs of our community, including swim lessons, lifeguarding, and water safety education.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and train lifeguards, instructors, and other aquatic staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality programs and services.
- Safety and Risk Management: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants by implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and responding to emergencies.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to participants, parents, and other stakeholders, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and updating paperwork as required.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. recreation, education, health sciences) an asset.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in aquatic program management, lifeguarding, or a related field; 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role an asset.
- Certifications: National Lifeguard Certification, Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification, and other relevant certifications required.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Recreation Software: Experience with recreation software such as Xplor Recreation an asset.
- Municipal Recreation Experience: Experience working in a municipal recreation setting an asset.
