Aquatics Program Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Programmer to join our team at the City of Belleville. As an Aquatics Programmer, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of aquatic programs, including lifeguarding, instruction, and supervision of staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the safety and supervision of participants and staff, adhering to departmental policies and regulations.
- Coordinate lifeguard and instructor rotations, breaks, and task delegation to ensure efficient program delivery.
- Complete administrative tasks, including maintaining statistics, reports, and paperwork, as required by the Aquatics Coordinator.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of forms, documents, and records for each shift.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment around the pool deck, lifeguard office, and change room areas.
- Assist with shift changes and coverage, including teaching, guarding, or other duties as needed.
- Act as a positive role model, provide guidance to staff, and assist with performance appraisals.
- Propose, implement, and supervise special events and rental groups, in coordination with the Aquatics Coordinator.
- Resolve problems and conflicts with patrons and staff.
- Be knowledgeable of City programs and possess strong public relations skills.
- Assume responsibility for assessing, responding, and providing first aid in emergency situations.
- Maintain personal fitness levels to perform lifeguarding, monitoring, leading, and instructing duties.
- Attend and assist with staff training and meetings as scheduled.
- High School Diploma
- Swim Instructor-Lifesaving Society Certification
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Standard First Aid and C.P.R. 'C' Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor-Lifesaving Society Certification
- Examiner-up to Bronze Cross
- Aquatic Supervisor Certification
- Standard First Aid Instructor/Examiner
- National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner
- Instructor Trainer-Lifesaving Society
- Certified Pool Operator
- Certified Aquafitness Instructor (AQX, CALA, WaterArt, YMCA)
