Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Belleville. As a Community Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of aquatic programs, including lifeguarding, instructing, and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement aquatic programs, including lifeguarding, instructing, and supervising staff.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and evaluate lifeguards and instructors to ensure they are following proper protocols and procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks, such as maintaining statistics, completing reports, and updating paperwork.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of participants and staff by following policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Special Events: Coordinate and supervise special events, such as swim meets and camp swims.
  • Training and Meetings: Attend and assist with the organization and running of all Aquatics staff training and meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Certifications: Swim Instructor-Lifesaving Society, National Lifeguard Certification, Standard First Aid and C.R. 'C' Certification, Lifesaving Instructor-Lifesaving Society, Examiner-up to Bronze Cross, Aquatic Supervisor Certification
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience instructing and lifeguarding, skill and efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Asset Qualifications
  • Standard First Aid Instructor/Examiner
  • National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner
  • Instructor Trainer-Lifesaving Society
  • Certified Pool Operator
  • Certified Aquafitness Instructor (AQX, CALA, WaterArt, YMCA)
