Environmental Permitting Specialist

Hatfield Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Permitting Specialist to join our Water Resource Group. This permanent, full-time position will be based in our Vancouver offices or can be fully remote within BC.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, guidance, and permitting processes under BC mining, water, and environmental legislation. They will use their experience and knowledge to help our clients identify and meet provincial requirements for their mining and water-related projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice on local, provincial, and federal environmental requirements.
- Develop and implement permitting strategies and approaches.
- Coordinate and integrate information from multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Review materials for adequacy with respect to regulatory submissions related to permitting.
- Support meetings and presentations with clients and regulators.
- Ensure project compliance with schedules and budgets.
- Manage project financial controls and reporting.
- Undergraduate degree or higher in an appropriate field of study and professional registration.
- A minimum of 3 years experience supporting permitting and regulatory compliance of mining and/or water-related projects.
- Experience in project management, multidisciplinary projects, and environmental impact assessment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills applicable to study design and statistical analysis.
