Lead a Data-Driven Approach in Market Risk Management

We're seeking a skilled Senior Data Analytics Specialist to join our esteemed team at Scotiabank, focused on Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) measurement.

As a key member of the CCR Analytics team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving data-driven insights and decision-making within the organization. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing complex risk data, developing predictive models, and providing actionable recommendations to senior management.

About the Role:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data analytics solutions that drive business value and inform strategic decisions.
  • Analyze large datasets, identify trends, and create data visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain advanced statistical models to forecast CCR metrics, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Design and execute comprehensive data quality control processes to ensure the integrity of our risk data.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to junior analysts, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science) or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, with a strong focus on risk analysis and modeling.
  • Proven expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience working with big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
