About This Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the Centennial Professional Centre in Kentville. As a collaborative practice, we offer a unique opportunity to work with a team of healthcare professionals, including a family practice nurse, two nurse practitioners, an RN, and a social worker. Our state-of-the-art facility features an in-house full-service retail pharmacy and Atlantic Canada's most comprehensive vein and laser clinic.

As a Family Medicine Physician with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will have the opportunity to shape your practice to meet your goals and interests. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. This includes ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, building a strong relationship with patients, and working collaboratively with other healthcare providers to provide seamless care.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • Be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
  • Continuum of patient care with healthcare providers within your practice and/or community
  • Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary, and tertiary level healthcare
  • Build to capacity within the first two years
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Work toward same-day or next-day access for the practice population
  • Work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs
  • Work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members
Expected Hours
  • Full-time or part-time hours available
Qualifications
  • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
