About This Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join our team in Kentville. Our collaborative practice is a turn-key operation, providing a unique opportunity for a physician to shape their practice and work in a team-based care environment.

As a Family Medicine Physician with our team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. You will work closely with our team of healthcare providers, including nurse practitioners, social workers, and a full-service retail pharmacy, to provide continuum of care and coordination of community-based care.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality primary healthcare services to patients
  • Be accountable for workload and practice
  • Provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level healthcare
  • Build to capacity within the first two years
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Work toward same day or next day access for the practice population
  • Work in collaboration with other team members to best suit the community's health needs
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
Expected Hours
  • Full-time or part-time hours available
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
