Head of Teaching Partnerships and Public Services

The University of British Columbia's Okanagan campus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced librarian to fill the role of Head, Teaching Partnerships and Public Services. This is a full-time, ongoing position that reports to the Deputy University Librarian, Okanagan Campus.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide intellectual and administrative leadership for the Teaching Partnerships and Public Services unit, contributing to the development of innovative and responsive teaching and public services that position the Library as a vital resource for the campus and its diverse stakeholders.
- Lead and manage a team of librarians and support staff, providing guidance and direction to ensure the effective delivery of services and the achievement of unit goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the Library's teaching and public services, including the design and delivery of information literacy programs and services that support transformative learning objectives.
- Collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to identify and address the information needs of the campus community, and to develop and implement services and programs that meet those needs.
- Represent the Library on campus and in the community, promoting the Library's services and resources and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Masters-level degree from an accredited program of library, information science, or equivalent internationally accredited program or a masters-level degree with a specialization or concentration in archival science.
- Leadership, management, and supervisory experience in an academic library.
- Experience teaching in an information literacy instruction program.
- Experience providing general and in-depth reference and research consultations.
- Experience working collegially with a diverse population of colleagues and/or users in keeping with the University's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Knowledge of public services (reference and outreach) practices, policies, and procedures in an academic library.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire innovation, and experience developing and motivating teams and individuals.
- A track record of developing innovative, long-range academic or community programs and carrying out objectives.
- An academic background or professional experience in relevant subject areas.
