Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Professional to join our team at the YMCA Chetwynd Care & Learning Centre. This role involves working with infants and toddlers, providing quality care and creative programming that promotes their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Compensation Package

This position offers a competitive salary of $29.80 - $31.76 per hour, inclusive of Government Wage Enhancement (currently $6.00/hour for fully certified ECEs). In addition, you will receive benefits such as YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 6% vacation pay, paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, and discount on child care (excluding IT Care).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum.
  • Collaborate with staff to deliver high-quality child care services that meet the needs of diverse families.
  • Ensure compliance with all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies.
Requirements
  • Current and valid BC Infant & Toddler Early Childhood Educator License to Practice.
  • Three satisfactory professional references and experience working with children in a child care or recreational setting.
  • Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
