Job Title: Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper to join our team at Melrose Paving Co.

Job Summary:

The Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper will assist skilled tradespersons and apprentices in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our paving operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including construction equipment and machinery.
  • Help tradespersons and apprentices with tasks such as moving tools and equipment, holding stakes during surveying activities, and signaling safety procedures.
  • Clean machines and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment, including small engine and equipment mechanics.
  • Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, and organized work habits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat required.
