Job Title: Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper

Melrose Paving Co is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper to join our team. As a key member of our paving operations, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of our heavy equipment, ensuring our projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including cleaning and lubricating machines, and performing routine checks.
  • Help tradespersons and other workers with tasks such as moving tools and equipment, holding stakes during surveying activities, and signaling safety procedures.
  • Support the team in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with small engine and equipment mechanics to resolve equipment issues and maintain optimal performance.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in dusty conditions, and in various work settings, including sidewalks, roads, and residential areas.
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, and a team player attitude.
