Job Title: Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper to join our team at Melrose Paving Co.

Job Summary:

The Construction Equipment Mechanic Helper will assist our skilled tradespeople in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including cleaning and lubricating machinery
  • Help tradespeople with tasks such as moving tools and equipment, holding stakes during surveying activities, and signaling safety procedures
  • Support the team in routine maintenance and repair of equipment, including cleaning machines and immediate work areas
  • Assist in the supervision of small engine and equipment mechanics
  • Work in a physically demanding environment, bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work outdoors in dusty conditions, with attention to detail and efficient interpersonal skills
  • Dependability, organized, and a team player
  • Accurate and able to follow instructions
