About the Job

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a skilled Diesel Truck Technician/Mechanic II to join our team in Chatham, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the overhaul of major components or remove/replace major components at the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy equipment systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and repair problems with electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other critical components.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines to ensure efficient vehicle turnaround.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to resolve complex issues and ensure excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
  • Currently enrolled in an apprentice program.
  • Maintain membership/registration with respective Government Agencies.
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
  • Current driver's license class G or class 5 and the ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months of being hired required.
