Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Diesel Truck Technician/Mechanic I to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tractor trailer maintenance and be proficient in the use of all tools of trade.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions
• Use hand tools and power tools to diagnose and repair equipment
• Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components
• Adjust and replace brake components, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
• Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
• Inspect and test defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions
• Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications

Requirements:

• 5+ years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
• Possession of respective Provincial License, such as Red Seal/310T
• Membership/registration with respective Government Agencies
• Current driver's license class D or class 3 with air brake certification
• Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
