**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team as a Clinical Lead in the ICU. As a key member of our respiratory therapy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of respiratory care services to patients in the ICU.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in the ICU service area.
  • Develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients receiving advanced respiratory treatment.
  • Identify new equipment requirements and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for the ICU area.
  • Be responsible for respiratory equipment, including operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance.
  • Participate in interprofessional patient rounds, conferences, and meetings as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
  • Graduate from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy and passed the National Respiratory Certification Exam as administered by the College of Respiratory Therapy of Alberta (CRTA) or the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapy (CSRT).
  • Current active registration in good standing with CRTA and current basic life support (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • 5 years current acute care experience in a tertiary teaching hospital with 3 years current critical care experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude, initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
  • Charge experience, student preceptorship, and involvement in developing quality initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current advanced life support certifications specific to the role.
  • Relevant baccalaureate degree and/or supervisory training/certification.
  • Current Rapid Response team membership.

Salary:** $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
