Waste Connections of Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Kamloops, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of garbage trucks and heavy equipment in safe working order.

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will work as part of a team to ensure that all equipment meets government regulations and standards for safety, as well as our company's safety standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting and repairing garbage and roll-off trucks, and post-collection off-road equipment
  • Ensuring that all equipment and systems are operational by conducting inspections and completing related repairs
  • Maintaining accurate work orders and parts charge-outs using an electronic work order system
  • Inventory control, ordering, and receiving parts from vendors as required
  • Completing all safety checks and recording information into a database

The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal License or equivalent, CVI Ticket, and at least 3-4 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Mack Diagnostic software experience and waste industry experience are assets, but not required.
