About the Role:

Covenant House Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Philanthropy Officer, Special Events to join our team. As a key member of our Philanthropy department, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with individuals and organizations to support our fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to recruit and engage participants for our signature Sleep Out events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, community leaders, and individual donors.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities.
  • Manage and execute event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and marketing.
  • Develop and implement a stewardship plan to ensure timely and effective recognition of donors and participants.
  • Provide administrative support for event planning, including database management and reporting.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, and special event planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge database and Luminate software is an asset.
