About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Advisor for Shared Secretariat to join our team at the First Nations Health Authority. As a key member of our organization, you will provide strategic advice, guidance, and support to management, staff, the First Nations Health Council, and the First Nations Health Directors Association.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to management and staff on policy and governance matters.
  • Support the development, execution, and maintenance of function-specific strategies, programs, processes, and procedures that align with overall organizational needs and goals.
  • Proactively and routinely encounter complex issues, including political and community issues, and demonstrate innovative thinking by researching, analyzing, and preparing recommendations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A university degree in public policy, political science, First Nations governance, or a related discipline, plus 4-6 years of relevant specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Significant, relevant, and recent experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings, or published papers.
  • Significant, relevant, and recent experience in project management, supporting projects and small teams.
  • Experience in research, report, and publications writing.
  • Experience with public health and policy is an asset.
  • Experience in maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, government(s) is an asset.
