Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team in North York, ON. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our company's COR accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and implement construction project safety plans, monitor worker and subcontractor compliance, and enforce safe work practices.
  • Develop health and safety policies, programs, and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and orientation to new workers, maintain online training software programs, and track statistics and records.
  • Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee and assist with incident investigations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Manage WSIB claims and the return-to-work process, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on health and safety legislative requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Three to five years of experience in occupational health and safety management, with knowledge of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST), or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designations are considered assets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
