Job Title: Acute Care Hospitalist

Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Acute Care Hospitalist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality medical care to designated hospital in-patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide MRP coverage for designated in-patients, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the care team and hospitalists to facilitate transfer of patient care.
  • Actively participate as a preceptor for medical trainees to develop inpatient acute care skills.
  • Ensure that case conferences for complex multi-morbid patients include primary care and receiving agencies.
  • Communicate discharge plans to the receiving community physician or nurse practitioner in a manner that optimizes continuity of care.
  • Participate in education to support accurate and comprehensive coding practices.
  • Develop competency with Dragon Medical One voice transcription when available.
Requirements:
  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license.
  • ACLS Training.
