We are seeking a highly skilled Acute Care Hospitalist to join our team at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality medical care to designated hospital in-patients, working collaboratively with specialists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide MRP coverage for designated in-patients, utilizing excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills to assess and manage a wide range of medical conditions.
- Communicate effectively with other members of the care team and hospitalists to facilitate transfer of patient care and ensure seamless transitions.
- Actively participate as a preceptor for medical trainees, developing inpatient acute care skills and contributing to the education and training of future healthcare professionals.
- Ensure that case conferences for complex multi-morbid patients include primary care and receiving agencies, promoting continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Communicate discharge plans to receiving community physicians or nurse practitioners, utilizing the Electronic Medical Record to its full capacity and seeking additional training as required.
- Participate in education to support accurate and comprehensive coding practices, ensuring that all patient data is accurately recorded and reported.
- College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license, allowing the physician to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- ACLS Training, ensuring that the physician is equipped to handle complex medical emergencies and provide high-quality care in critical situations.
