About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at KAPP CONSTRUCTION LTD. As a Trades Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our construction operations and ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to site.
  • Site Setup and Dismantling: Help to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mixing and Applying Materials: Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Drilling and Blasting: Support drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, working closely with experienced operators.
  • Framing and Construction: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, ensuring accurate and precise construction.
  • Earthwork and Paving: Level earth to fine grade specifications and pave and rake asphalt, maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Demolition and Debris Removal: Assist in demolishing buildings and removing rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, prioritizing site safety.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: The role will involve working outdoors in various weather conditions, at heights, and in dusty environments.
  • Weight Handling: You will be required to lift and handle materials up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly.
