Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Estimate costs and materials
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Support for newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment
  • Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
