About This Role

Black & McDonald Limited is a leading provider of integrated construction services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to join our team in Winnipeg.

The Project Coordinator will play a key role in assisting with overall project performance and status, from start to finish, in accordance with schedule, specifications, and budget. This includes managing cost, schedule, safety, and quality, and keeping the Project Manager/Division Manager well-informed of progress, discrepancies, questions, and any impacts on project plan and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders, including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Assist in planning and preparing schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with applicable HSE legislation and company policies and procedures, contract requirements, and Black & McDonald policies and procedures.
  • Database Management: Maintain departmental and network databases as required to ensure records are kept current and accurate.
  • Document Control: Participate in document control, archive project activities, deliverables, tools, and findings for use in future projects.
  • Project Coordination: Assist the project team to ensure project objectives, schedule, budget, cash flow, policies, procedures, and performance standards are met in accordance with company policy and contract specifications.
  • Construction Scheduling: Coordinate with the project team to plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and execute projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Contract Management: Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts.
  • Project Data Analysis: Track, interpret, analyze, and report on project data.

A Degree or Diploma in the following would be considered an asset:

  • Project Management
  • Construction Engineering Technology
  • Construction Management
  • Engineering
Certifications/Designations

The following certifications/designations are considered an asset:

  • PMP designation
  • Gold Seal Certification
  • Construction safety certifications
Work Experience Requirements
  • 3-5 years as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry
  • Project experience in mechanical construction is considered an asset

  • Financial statements – read and comprehend

Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)

  • Willing and able to travel to sites around Winnipeg
  • Valid Driver's License
