Job Summary

The Project Coordinator is a key member of the project management team responsible for assisting in the delivery and implementation of assigned capital projects from inception through to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the control, distribution, processing, and maintenance of all contract documents, including plans, tenders, work orders, and change orders.
  • Assist in developing processes and systems to ensure documents are reviewed and processed quickly and meet Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, contractors, and other relevant parties.
  • Provide administrative support to project managers, including preparing reports, presentations, and other project-related documents.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks, and develop strategies to address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor and track project progress, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Manitoba Government policies, procedures, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a field related to construction project management, including engineering, architecture, or business administration.
  • Experience in project coordination or management in the construction industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and provide high-level customer service to different stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, research, and analytical skills to identify and integrate relevant information to determine appropriate course of action or outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to problem-solve, recognize critical issues, and take proactive action.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Office Suite, as well as project management software, including MS Project.

Working Conditions

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be willing to make occasional visits to work sites within the province by ground, waterways, and air, which may require overnight stays.
  • Must possess and maintain a full stage Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence.
