Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Controls Specialist to manage project controls for large-scale renewable energy projects, including schedule development, cost estimates, risk and scope management. The successful candidate will coordinate, facilitate, and drive the Front-End Planning Process, support business units in developing, maintaining, and updating project cost baselines and budgets, and collaborate with project managers to address variances and adjust project plans as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the Front-End Planning Process;
  • Support business units in developing, maintaining, and updating project cost baselines and budgets;
  • Collaborate with project managers to address variances and adjust project plans as needed;
  • Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis;
  • Perform cost management for projects in accordance with OPG's project management governance;
  • Prepare and obtain approval of applicable change control documentation;
  • Facilitate project financial close out process;
  • Assist with continuous improvement of PMO processes and procedures;
  • Maintain document project file providing an auditable trail throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A 4-year university degree, preferably in engineering;
  • 6-8 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and controls;
  • Understanding of project controls principles, theories, and concepts;
  • Experience with cost management software and tools for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting;
  • Project Management experience within a highly technical environment.
