The Role

We're seeking a Human Resources Business Partner at our Brampton location. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a vital role in instituting a collaborative approach, leveraging your top-notch communication skills to partner closely with members of the business to ensure a smooth and consistent flow of people-related services to divisional leadership and staff in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing Business Needs: You will assess short and long-term business needs of the client group and provide both operational and consultative HR guidance and support to client groups.
  • Collaboration and Proactivity: You will collaborate and work proactively with business leaders to identify key issues impacting operational goals, and offer strategic solutions.
  • Employee Support: You will provide guidance and assistance to salaried employees and managers on a wide range of human resource issues, including employee relations, conflict resolution, performance and compensation management, employee retention and engagement, workplace accommodations, and employment legislation, HR policies and people programs.
  • Initiative Collaboration: You will collaborate with MDA's HR team on new initiatives, process implementation and leverage team expertise in planning and delivering functional initiatives to your respective client group.
  • Communication and Facilitation: You will communicate, facilitate, and/or present HR programs and roll-outs at the divisional and site level and work with leaders to develop and retain talent.
  • Project Work: You will actively participate in HR project work, such as development of new human resources strategies for the organization as a whole.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years of solid, professional-level generalist human resources experience, ideally in a Business Partner role.
  • Education: Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources Management, or equivalent.
  • Skills: Comfortable with change and having the ability to pivot actions/tasks in response to evolving business needs/demands. Proficient in using HR Analytics to make informed decisions and be able to measure impact (proficient in MS Office tools).
  • Leadership: Proven experience advising and collaborating with operational business leaders in a consultative capacity and can build trusting relationships quickly.
  • Complex Environments: Experience developing and implementing business solutions in medium to large, complex matrixed environments.
  • Legislation: Solid understanding of applicable employment and human rights legislation in Ontario.
  • Relationship Building: Proven skills in coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, risk management and relationship management.
  • Engagement: Strong relationship building skills with leaders and employees, in order to drive engagement and collaboration.
