Clearwater Seafoods Indigenous Employment Ambassador

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indigenous Employment Ambassador to join our team at Clearwater Seafoods. As a key member of our Indigenous Relations team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain Mi'kmaq people in our workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with First Nations communities in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to promote job opportunities within Clearwater.
  • Work closely with our Indigenous Employment Officers to promote job opportunities and support Indigenous applicants through the hiring process.
  • Assess existing barriers to employment and work with our HR team to remove them.
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract Mi'kmaq candidates.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous culture and history.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
