Job Summary:
">We are currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Police Officer Trainees. As a Police Officer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow with our organization, developing the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a rewarding career in law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
">- Provide front-line support to the public, learning police duties and assisting officers in the execution of those duties.
- Assignments will be made to a unit in our Primary Response Unit, stationed at the Front Desk.
- After successful completion of the program, candidates will be sworn in as Fourth Class Constables with the Thunder Bay Police Service.
Requirements:
">To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Successful completion of at least four years of secondary education or its equivalent.
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid class G Ontario driver's license with full driving privileges.
- Possess a valid First Aid and CPR (Basic Rescuer Level) certificate.
- Obtained a pre-application OACP certificate.
- Be physically and mentally able to perform the duties of the position.
- Be of good moral character and habits.
Benefits:
">As a member of the Thunder Bay Police Service, you will enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- Salary Range: $48,803.62 to $57,717.61 annually.
- Working Hours: 0700-1900 or 1900—0700, based on a shift schedule consisting of 4 on, 4 off.
- Annual Leave: Two blocks of annual leave following one year of continuous employment.
- Benefits: TBPS offers competitive group benefits to all full-time members, including Health, Dental and Vision care, Out of Country Travel Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term disability, Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment.
- Pension Plan: Joining OMERS starts immediately upon full-time employment.
