**Job Summary**

Ottawa Festival Network is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations/Outreach Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for promoting our community outreach program, researching and engaging with diverse community groups, and assisting in the development of promotional materials.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in the development and implementation of community outreach initiatives
  • Research and identify groups working with diverse and underserved members of the community
  • Conduct outreach to schedule bookings for community groups to attend and participate in theatre and arts events
  • Assist in the creation of written and visual promotional materials
  • Update websites and social media platforms with relevant information
  • Post information on online event sites to promote Ottawa Festival Network's activities
  • Create engaging content, including blogs, interviews, and photos and videos
  • Distribute printed and digital marketing materials
  • Respond to public inquiries accurately and promptly
  • Maintain and update databases
  • Assist the front of house manager
  • Perform administrative duties as needed

**Requirements:**

  • Courses in Theatre, Marketing, Communications, Media/Public Relations or similar
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent telephone skills and dealing with community groups and the public
  • Outgoing, positive attitude in dealing with the public
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Excellent digital skills (Mac, Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, etc.)
  • Experience with Social Media platforms
  • Ability to show initiative
  • Ability to work independently
