Job Title: Public Relations and Outreach Assistant

Odyssey Theatre is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Public Relations and Outreach Assistant. This role will play a key part in promoting our community outreach program and engaging with diverse community groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing a community outreach strategy to promote our arts programs and events.
  • Research and identify community groups and organizations to partner with and engage in outreach efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups and stakeholders to promote our arts programs and events.
  • Assist in creating promotional materials, such as posters, flyers, and social media content, to promote our arts programs and events.
  • Assist in updating our website and social media channels to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available to the public.
  • Respond to public inquiries and provide information about our arts programs and events.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating our databases, including mailing and donor lists.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as theatre, marketing, communications, or media/public relations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms, with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and flexible attitude.
