About This Opportunity

We are seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to provide shift coverage in community hospitals in the Western Zone. This is an excellent opportunity for family medicine and emergency medicine physicians to join the medical teams in our region. Requirements include up-to-date ACLS and PALS certifications, with ATLS being a preferred qualification. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.

Responsibilities

As an Emergency Medicine physician, your duties will include providing full scope of practice care to patients within the zone. You will be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine for your professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Expected Hours

We offer multiple opportunities for Emergency Medicine physicians, including:

Qualifications

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:

  • Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) if you are a family physician
  • Be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) if you are a specialist
  • Have membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Hold current Certification in ACLS and PALS
