Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for shift coverage in community hospitals in the Western Zone. This is a great opportunity for family medicine and emergency medicine physicians to join the medical teams in the region. Requirements include up-to-date ACLS and PALS, with ATLS being a preferred qualification. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.
ResponsibilitiesDuties include providing full scope of practice as an emergency physician, caring for patients within the zone. The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, operating within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Expected HoursMultiple opportunities exist, including full-time, part-time, and locum positions.
Qualifications- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada for family physicians
- Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for specialists
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Current certification
