About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to provide shift coverage in community hospitals within the Western Zone. This is an excellent opportunity for family medicine and emergency medicine physicians to join the medical teams in Middleton, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Liverpool, and Lunenburg. To be eligible, candidates must have up-to-date ACLS and PALS certifications, with ATLS being a preferred qualification. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full scope emergency physician care to patients within the zone. They will report to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine and operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Expected Hours

Multiple opportunities exist, including full-time, part-time, and locum positions.

Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for family physicians
  • Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for specialists
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Current certification
