Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking Emergency Medicine physicians to provide shift coverage in community hospitals in the Western Zone. This is an excellent opportunity for family medicine and emergency medicine physicians to join the medical teams in Middleton, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Liverpool, and Lunenburg. To be eligible, applicants must have up-to-date ACLS and PALS certifications, with ATLS being a preferred qualification. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Emergency Medicine physician, you will be responsible for providing full scope of practice care to patients within the zone. You will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority and report to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine for your professional responsibilities and quality of practice.
Expected HoursMultiple opportunities exist for full-time, part-time, and locum positions.
Qualifications- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for family physicians
- Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for specialists
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
