Emergency Medicine Physician for Community Hospitals in Western Zone

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to provide shift coverage in community hospitals in the Western Zone of Nova Scotia. This is a great opportunity for a family medicine and emergency medicine physician to join the medical teams in Middleton, Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Liverpool, and Lunenburg. To be eligible, applicants must have up-to-date ACLS and PALS certifications, with ATLS being a preferred qualification. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing full scope emergency physician care to patients within the zone. They will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority and be accountable to the Zone Department Head for Emergency Medicine.
Expected HoursMultiple opportunities exist for full-time, part-time, and locum positions.
Qualifications- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) for family physicians
- Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for specialists
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Current certification in ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
