Job Description:

At Scotiabank, we're seeking an experienced Deposit Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Deposit Portfolio Management group, you'll play a critical role in driving deposit growth and optimizing our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  2. Contribute to the development of Bank-wide deposit strategies.
  3. Identify and drive new revenue opportunities, reduced costs, and improved operational efficiencies.
  4. Direct in-depth portfolio analysis to identify underlying trends by segment/market.
  5. Identify segment and/or market-specific opportunities for, or obstacles to, deposit growth.
  6. Strategically influence business partners (Group Treasury, Finance, Sales, and Business Line Management) to gain support for GTB deposit acquisition strategies.
  7. Represent GTB in cross-functional meetings with Finance, Group Treasury, and business partners (i.e., monthly ALCO meetings, Deposit Leadership forums, and Deposit Portfolio Oversight Committee).
  8. Lobby internal and external stakeholders where required to obtain their buy-in and resources to proceed with projects.
  9. Provide business advice to Business Line partners and Group Treasury to optimize balance sheet within liquidity risk appetite.
  10. Lead the design, development, and production of key financial and strategic reports for the global business deposit portfolio, including product, segment, and country profitability, performance, and sales results.
  11. Lead presentations targeting internal audiences (e.g., senior executives).
  12. Analyze financial performance and monitor appropriate performance measurement criteria and key metrics, providing insights to leadership.
  13. Analysis of results includes monthly and quarterly results, Bluebook, forecasts, annual plan, business line dashboards, monthly presentations, among others.
  14. Lead development and production of annual profit planning for GTB's Business Deposit portfolios.
  15. Oversee internal operational improvements in areas of responsibility to ensure management information needs are met.
  16. Has expert knowledge of OSFI Liquidity Adequacy Requirements: Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR), and Net Cumulative Cash Flow (NCCF).
  17. Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) Management: reviews and maintains existing/new FTP methodologies.
  18. Data Architecture: supports and contributes recommendations for GTB's deposit data infrastructure.
  19. Interest Rate & Margin Management support: contributes to GTB's revenue through value-added portfolio analytics and insights.
  20. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  21. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
