About the School

This research-intensive school is a young and vibrant environment with research and teaching foci in multiple health-related fields. It offers a discipline-based graduate program, and participates in interdisciplinary graduate programs, professional undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and professional development activities.

Research Focus

We seek applicants specifically in the area of biostatistics. The School currently offers MSc and PhD degrees in Epidemiology; an MSc degree in Biostatistics; and a Graduate Diploma in Population Health Risk Assessment and Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a vigorous program of independent, externally funded research;
  • Contribute to the enhancement of graduate student training in biostatistics;
  • Teach and mentor students in biostatistics and related fields;
  • Participate in academic service activities, including departmental and university-wide committees.
Requirements
  • PhD in Biostatistics (preferred) or a PhD in Statistics (with a demonstrated specialization/concentration in Biostatistics) or a PhD in Epidemiology (or related degree) with a demonstrated specialization/concentration in Biostatistics;
  • A commitment to teaching and graduate training in biostatistics;
  • A strong record of accomplishment in interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
