Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Practice Initiatives Lead to join their Professional Practice Admin team.

This role involves promoting excellence and advancing professional practice relevant to the strategic direction of the Organization, Professional Practice, and the Community of Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the regional Professional Practice team, the Community of Care Operational teams, and other stakeholders to develop professional standards and practice.
  • Provide leadership and expert consultative advice on nursing issues, including scope of practice, clinical informatics, resource planning, and research.
  • Support the development of quality care environments and achieve effective and efficient quality of care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's Degree in nursing with three to five years of recent experience in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of professional practice, nursing regulations, and nursing standards.
  • Ability to facilitate, collaborate, and negotiate for effective resolution of practice issues.
  • Knowledge of available resources for practice and ability to provide knowledgeable input into resource utilization decisions.
