About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Project Coordinator to join our team. As an IT Project Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the coordination of project activities across multiple programs, collaborating with Solutions Consultants, Project & IT Managers, business leads, external clients, and subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project leaders in monitoring and coordination of scope, schedule, and overall project initiatives.
  • Assist in developing project artifacts, including project charters, requirements, work breakdown structures, budgets, resource allocation, sprint logs, user stories, schedules, risk logs, action items, lessons learned, etc.
  • Assist project teams with planning, coordination, and reporting.
  • Support and facilitate project meetings, preparing agendas, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain communications with all team members.
  • Coordinate projects in both agile and waterfall methodology.
  • Assist in validating budget forecasts and providing ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures against set budgets.
  • Effectively escalate early warning signs and deviations from the plan.
  • Maintain project documentation repositories.
  • Document control; ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Track the status of deliverables to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Attend and participate in stakeholder meetings.
  • Develop project strategies to ensure alignment of team members, priorities based on vision to execute on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Schedule, organize meetings, and team member activities to contribute to project success.
  • Provide regular status updates to team members and project leaders.

Requirements

  • A university degree/college diploma in project management, management information systems (MIS), or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of project management experience in.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with project management frameworks, including cost, schedule, risk, issue, and status tracking and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and work with new technologies and applications.
  • Experience supporting and coordinating a variety of small and large projects.
  • Experience with business process documentation techniques and tools.
  • Experience supporting and facilitating a variety of engagement sessions and meetings with technical and professional staff, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • An ability to interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification is considered an asset.
