Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Post-Acute/Family Medicine Unit at the Leduc Community Hospital. As part of our interprofessional healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, quality patient-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Nursing assessment and interventions
  • Care planning and implementation
  • Medication administration and monitoring
  • Patient education and discharge planning

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support-Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • A minimum of one year of acute care experience
  • Direct IV Administration and PICC Certification
  • Basic keyboarding/computer skills and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within the CoACT framework and Connect Care is preferred. Experience in caring for medical, post-operative surgical, orthopedic, and subacute patients is also desired.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Environment:

This is a physically demanding environment that requires constant walking, bending, and lifting 50 lbs or more. You must be able to work independently and within a team, demonstrating critical thinking skills, clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and strong decision-making ability.
