About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Forensic Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at BCMHSUS, part of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). The successful candidate will work with individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges in minimum and medium security units. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct regular assessments and progress monitoring to inform program modifications and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to meet departmental standards.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and respect for diversity, acknowledging the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous communities.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized recreational, rehabilitation, or related health or human services program.
  • Two years recent experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate and Class 4 BC Driver's License.
